Our little graduate / Memorial Day

Jake graduated from preschool! As silly as it sounds, it was a proud moment for me as a mother. He has grown so much the past year and he was so cute up there in his little cap and gown! They sang silly songs about all the things they had learned this year and when Jake's teacher asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up, his reply was that he wanted to be a missionary! He received several ahhhs from the audience and maybe a little tear from his mom. I love that kid!!

Memorial Weekend was harder for me than I expected. I think part of it was not having Dad around for some of the family traditions that we have. Saturday we went up the canyon to dig up a time capsule that we had buried as a family. We put little items in it that remind us of what we had done the past year and maybe some of the goals that we have for the upcoming year. Dad always made predictions for the family. It was strange and sad not to have him there, but nice to remember some of the memories that we have of him. The kids had a great time and I hope it's a tradition that we continue for a long time.

What a fun memory to have. We should start a time capsule. I can't believe how big your kids are, especially your little girl. They are both so adorable.
