Jeremy got a job! Today was his first day of work as the Training Coordinator for Pinnacle Security. Its the same company we went to Virginia with to sell Alarm systems, but he's on the corporate team now. He's going to be writing all the training material for their company. He's really good at it, so it should be a great job. The best part is, he's on salary, not commission! Its going to be so nice to have the security of steady income again. Its close enough to school that he can walk over to class when he goes back to finish up his degree in January.
While waiting to get a job, we've been relying on our food storage for the past month or so. I never thought we would eat as well as we actually did! It was really cool to see what we could come up with using only bread, milk, and a wide variety of cans. Our families and friends helped by bringing us fresh fruit and veggies from their gardens. Using our storage so much gave us a good idea of what we were missing and what we didn't need. Have any of you had to live on your food storage? How was it?
Jake has been through a lot this summer. He's been a little rebellious lately. Did you guys have that same stage? He gets really upset when we break his routines. We want him to be happy, but he fixates on one thing and refuses to obey. Its almost not worth the fight, but we feel like we would be spoiling him if we always let him have his way. Any ideas?
Jeremy made Jake an oven and Jake was thrilled. He promptly cooked us some pretend Mac and Cheese. It was delicious, and unlike regular Mac, low fat!

Still no decisions on a middle name. We have pretty much decided on either Ellie or Ella for our daughter, but nothing sounds perfect for a middle name. Jeremy likes Eliana Marie McLerran, says we can call her Ellie, but I want her to be named more simply. McLerran is such a heavy last name, I want something short and cute. We're still taking suggestions! So far the ones we like the best are Ella Marie or Ellie Jane.
My sister had her Gall bladder removed this past week. Since she was in bed most of the time, we agreed to take Kayley for a few days. For the most part she and Jake played well together, and we decided to see if the two of them could sleep in the same room without keeping each other up. They actually did really well. It was really funny though, once they fell asleep we would take a blanket off Jake's bed and cover Kayley up. Before we went to bed ourselves we went to check on them and not only had Jake stolen his blanket back, but Kayley had rolled off the bed and was sleeping on the cold floor! We took this picture so you could see the twisted uncomfortableness! The best part was the next morning, when we woke up to the sounds of the two of them making each other laugh. What fun it is to be parents!

Congrats you guys... I have been thinking of you a lot and hoping everything was okay... it's good to hear you can stick around here now. :) I would be very afraid to live on my food storage because there isn't much of a variety of stuff. This just reminds me that I need to replenish it and get food I could really use in an emergency!
How was the 1st day of work? I am excited for you guys... You need to share more about your food storage and what you did and didn't have so you can help us... That picture of Kaylee cracks me up she must be a good little sleeper. I cant imagine Savannah being good at a sleepover.. I love both your names.
Congrats to the hubby!! Glad he found something that will work.
Wow! That oven is great! What a creative hubby!
First of all- Congrats to the new job. My Bro in law also works for Pinnacle. It seems like a great company.
As for the name. I like Ellie Jane. I think it is SO cute. That's awesome that you are having a little girl!
Oh and we, as well, are enjoying the fall weather. If only it would last a little longer. Winter is just around the corner.
