Christmas and New Beginnings

The snow has put our family into Christmas mode. We put our tree up and went and played in the snow the other day. We had such a great time!

I've never seen such perfect little snowflakes!

Jake and Jeremy sitting in front of the snowman that we made.

Jake HAD to taste the snow!

For some reason, this year feels more like Christmas. I'm so excited! Jake is at such a great age and is totally looking forward to Christmas as well. I feel like our family has been so blessed and I really want to focus on the Savior and the real reason we celebrate this time of year. I've been wanting to start some new traditions that will help us remember why we have Christmas. Does anyone have any good suggestions? I want to do something that will help Jake understand.

On a side note, Jeremy started a new job this week. He is working for a company called Shelf Reliance. I think he is really going to enjoy it and I know he will do a great job. We couldn't have asked for a better location or environment. I really do feel like our prayers have been answered.

(found your blog through Mindy's blog)
those are awesome pictures--as for traditions, some of the things my family did was the 12 days of Christmas to another family, gives you the idea of serving, and one thing I'm starting with our little fam is doing something like toy for tots or at Barnes and Noble they have a tree you can buy a book for a child in need. I betcha that would be something jake would understand, helping another kid his age who maybe 'santa' can't get to or something.
good luck and I hope the new job works out great!

LOVE the pic at the top of Jake. You have a nice camera. We used to have a nice one but "someone" dropped it and broke it..... okay, it was me!

Love the new winter blog colors. Great pics as everyone has already mentioned. I love the snowflake. Let's see, traditions? I still am trying to figure this one out. This year we are doing a sub for santa and the kids decided how much of their own money they wanted to donate to help. It was only a couple of $$$ but when they find some loose change they say, "hey, maybe we can give this to the family that doesn't have toys." I'll keep checking back for more ideas.
