Broken arm

We had our first serious injury as parents last month. I had Young Women's so Jer decided to take the kids over to a friends house for the evening. Ellie was playing on the couch and decided to climb up on the back of it. She lost her balance and ended up falling off the back and landed on her arm in a really weird way onto the wood floor. Jer saw it happen and knew that she hurt it right away. They gave her a blessing and then rushed her to the doctor, where I met them. When I got there, Ellie was just laying so still. It was the saddest thing. She did so great though! She let the doctor examine her and she hardly complained at all. I was so proud of her. We got some x-rays that showed a definite break in her ulna and her other bone was also bowing. I felt so bad. They put her in a little splint for the night until we could see the orthopedic surgeon the next day. When we got to the orthopedic surgeon's office they reviewed her x-rays and said that they would have to sedate Ellie to set her arm. Fortunately, they decided to do some additional x-rays and miraculously her arm had pretty much fixed itself. The night before her elbow was totally dislocated and the bones were not where they're supposed to be. But when they checked the second time everything looked much better. They ended up not having to set her arm at all, and her time in a cast was much shorter than we had originally anticipated. I totally feel like we had a little miracle. They put her in a cute little pink cast and sent us on our way. Ellie hasn't seemed to be bothered by it at all (Other than when we have to wrap it up at bath time)! I'm just grateful she hasn't discovered that she can use it as weapon. I think Jer and I always knew that Ellie would be the child that would get injured. She's a crazy one!

My 6 year old!!

Jake turned 6 and he is the best little 6 year old that I know! He is such a kind and loving big brother, he's an amazing student, and a huge help to me around the house. We love him so much!

He was so excited for his birthday this year! He started counting down at the beginning of April. He wanted a pirate party this year and it was a lot of fun. We had a treasure hunt that ended with a treasure chest pinata. Jake loved it!

My sister, Lisa, made these cute cake pops.

Lola's blessing

Lola was blessed on April 10th. It was a special day and a special blessing. We are so lucky to have this little girl in our family!

Lola is such a happy baby. She has started to laugh and always has a smile for me. Her little smiles make me so happy! I keep trying to catch them on camera, but haven't had too much success yet!

Had to throw in a picture of Jake and Ellie too!

Jake playing Tron with paper plates. :)

Ellie looking very sweet.

Waiting for spring!

We have been so anxious for warm weather! So when a nice sunny day came around we had to enjoy it at the park!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Lola's photo shoot

Our friend, Amy, took some adorable pictures of Lola at 8 weeks. She is the sweetest, happiest baby. I just adore everything about her!
