Swimming

Jake and I have been in the pool so much this summer that he has turned into quite the fish. He is such a great swimmer! Yesterday we got Jake some new goggles to try out because he constantly opens his eyes under the water. His poor little eyes would be bright red by the end of the day. I wasn't sure if he would like them or keep them on for very long, but he ended up loving them! He was having fun swimming out from the side, but would try to wave hello at us from the deeper water. Of course, when he did this he would lose his momentum and start to sink and panic, but he never gave up, even after a few huge mouthfuls of water! Crazy kid! The water is perfect! Nice and warm, just how I like it!

First time with the goggles on. Liking it so far...

We love playing in the pool with this kid!

Jake walking on water!

Jake was jumping off the edge and then he would swim over to the ladder all by himself!

The next Michael Phelps...

Maybe the goggles were on just a little too tight.

Just some random pictures of our pool area. I thought it was pretty nice. This is the outdoor fireplace. There are also a couple of barbeques to use as well.

So pretty!

We're here!

Well, we've made it to Arizona and have been trying to get things settled once again.  I felt bad that we didn't get to say goodbye to very many people.  Our decision to leave was pretty quick and sudden.  The drive wasn't too bad, although, Jake didn't sleep the entire drive!  Luckily, he was cheerful for the most part.  We also made a stop in Las Vegas for a night to visit with some friends.  It was a nice little break from the driving.

When we arrived, our apartment wasn't quite ready yet so we stayed in a tiny hotel room for a few days.  Poor Jake had to sleep on the chair and ottoman!  We were glad to get in our apartment.  The place we're staying is pretty nice.  The pool and clubhouse area is amazing!  It feels a little bit like a resort with all the palm trees.  Once I unpack my camera I'll take some pictures!

I'm still trying to get used to the heat.  It has been around 106 to 108 since we've been here.  Not too crazy about that, but it will be perfect in the next couple of months!

I haven't posted in ages! I have felt so busy the last couple of weeks!

Last week was girls camp for our ward. I love girls camp! I was actually really excited that I was able to go again as a leader. I think it was a little difficult just having two girls but I hope that they had a good experience anyway. We also had a bit of rain to deal with but we still were able to do a lot of fun things.

This is the finished castle project. I think it turned out pretty good. By the end of the week it was totally soggy from the rain, but it was fun while it lasted.

Skit preparations. Brent ended up being our star as the Harry GodFather.

Our two young women. Aren't they cute!!

We did a zip cord this year. Everyone seemed to enjoy it except for Mel! I love how tightly she's hanging on!

The hike was so beautiful! We ended up at this crystal clear lake surrounded by huge cliffs. It was awesome even though we had to endure of bit of complaining from the young women.:)

Some girls jumped in. We were tempted to join them but decided to cool off by sticking just our feet in instead.

Mel enjoying the twizzlers!

I got home from girls camp Friday afternoon and came home to the surprise of having Jeremy back home! I was a little concerned at first, thinking that maybe something was wrong, but I was soooo excited to see him. It was our 6 year anniversary on Thursday and he decided to surprise me. I guess our plans are changing AGAIN! The company that Jeremy has been working for this summer decided to close down the Virginia Beach office and send us to Arizona instead. I'm glad that we're all together again, but it means that I will be leaving home for another four months! I'm not exactly excited about that, but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.

Shortly after I got home we packed everything up again and headed to our family reunion. To celebrate the Olympics we had our own little family Olympics. It was fun. We had all kinds of tournaments and games. One day we went to the lake and had canoe races and played in the water. My brother found a whole bunch of little tiny frogs that Jake loved!
