More about Erin

I was tagged a while ago, and I am just getting around to doing it. Sorry Athina! Anyway, I'm supposed to list 6 habits or facts about myself.

1- I love taking really, really hot baths. So hot you can barely stand to be in there! It's so relaxing for me. When it's starts getting cold I feel like I have to do this more often to help warm me up. Oh, and I like lots of bubbles.

2- I don't really like shopping at the mall. Maybe it's because I get overwhelmed with all the options and I have a hard time making decisions, or it could be that I don't like spending a lot of money, or it could be that there are so many cute moms walking around and I start comparing myself to them. I'd much rather go to Target or somewhere like that.

3- I love anything miniature. Jeremy is always trying to find little things to give to me. He found this bottle of ketchup about a month ago. I don't know why I like it so much. It's just fun.

4- I'm the type of person who loves to be at home. I'm perfectly happy sitting at home watching a movie or playing a game. I'm not big on crowds.

5- I'm a little OCD. For example:
I have to rotate where I sit on the couch. I don't want one cushion to get more saggy than another!
I have to do the same routine before I go to bed every night.
I have to butter my own toast because it has to have just the right amount of butter - not too much because it makes it soggy and not too little because then it just doesn't taste good! The bread has to be toasted just right too. Wow, now you all think I'm weird!

6- I like to belt out certain songs in the car, but I get really embarrassed in front of other people. Jake is the only one who ever gets to hear me. I don't think Jeremy has even heard me at my loudest!

Now I want to know all of your weird facts or habits!

Thanksgiving!

We celebrated another wonderful Thanksgiving! It's so great to spend time with family and friends at this time of year. We have so much to be thankful for!

For family home evening Jake made a "Thanksgiving hat". He liked wearing it for about a minute!

We had dinner at Jeremy's parents this year, but we stopped by my grandparents to try and take a quick family picture. My sister is making a calendar for my mom for Christmas and needed a family photo. Yeah, not so easy with my family. It is pretty much impossible for everyone in my family to cooperate at once. These are a couple of our attempts...

Faith

I didn't realize that it had been so long since I last posted.

The last couple of weeks have been pretty crazy. Jeremy lost his job a couple of weeks ago. I was really upset at first. It finally felt like we were getting on top of things... I was able to quit my job, we were putting money in savings, and then this happens! I was so frustrated and worried.

As we've gone through this experience, I'm starting to realize that it has been a blessing in disguise. We have learned some valuable lessons that our family really needed. It is so easy to become complacent and comfortable and forget about the things that are truly important and that truly make you happy. The Lord doesn't do things the way that we always expect or the way we want them, but He always has our best interest in mind and He knows what we need.

Our family has become stronger and closer and I know that if we have faith we will be provided for.

Pictures from the past couple of weeks...

Jake has been organizing his toys in rows. It's pretty funny!

We celebrated Jeremy's birthday on the 11th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Enjoying one of Jeremy's birthday presents, Guitar Hero III. I know you all want to come over and play!

For family home evening we made gingerbread houses with the Stephens. We weren't able to get a final picture because our battery died.

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween! We went to our neighborhood trunk or treat and got a ton of candy! Jake scored! Jake was so excited to be Superman. He has a bit of an obsession!

We got some black rain boots and painted them red for Jake's costume but for some reason the paint refused to dry. They were still slightly tacky when we left, but it completed the costume so we couldn't go with out them!

Jake's cousins Kayley and Addie came to the trunk or treat too. I think they were a little tired and cold by the end of the night!
