Who does Jake look like?

I saw this on one of my friend's blog and thought it looked like fun. Now we know who Jake really looks like...

The results kind of confirmed what I thought. He doesn't strongly look like either one of us.

My First Tag

I received my first tag so here you go...

1. What was I doing 10 years ago? I can't remember that far back very well but I was a sophomore in high school, I had my first date, my first kiss, and I experienced my first time driving legally. My family moved for about the 15th time and the best thing to happen that whole year...I finally got my braces off!! WA HOO!

2. What was I doing 5 years ago? Five years ago I was getting married! Jeremy popped the question in January on our 11 month anniversary of dating, and we were married in August. So the majority of the year was spent planning our wedding, which was beautiful. We had our reception in my grandma's and grandpa's backyard. The tables were set up like a little sidewalk cafe and we had ice cream with waffle cones and all the toppings. It was awesome!

3. What was I doing 1 year ago? Last year Jake turned one. I was still working at RC Willey and life was pretty hectic. I started taking an online class for medical transcription so I could work from home, but the school I chose ended up being a joke and I'm still trying to figure that out. I don't remember much else. I have such a bad memory! That's why I have to keep a journal!

4. What was I doing yesterday? Yesterday I got up around 7:00. We had breakfast and got ready for the day. Jeremy left for Hawaii without me to help a friend of his frame a church. Not fair!! I watched my friend's kids for a couple of hours and then we all went shopping together. I found a cute shirt for $5! Came home and got ready to go to a neighborhood luau and was jealous again that Jeremy was in Hawaii without me. Came home, put Jake to bed, read a little bit and then sat down on the couch and watched an episode of Dirty Jobs before crashing for the night.

5. Five snacks I like to munch on? Chocolate (I think Take5 is my favorite right now), ice cream, popcorn, apples with peanut butter, cold cereal

6. Five things I'd do if I suddenly had $100 million dollars to spend? Pay off car and house. We'd probably move into a bigger house. I'd like to get a whole new wardrobe. Jeremy would retire and we would take fun trips with all our friends and family.

7. Five locations I'd run away to? Hawaii or somewhere tropical, Italy, Australia, Alaska, somewhere quiet and relaxing with no one else around for miles.

8. Five bad habits? I nag my husband, I can get a little pessimistic sometimes, I procrastinate, I watch too much TV, and I eat too much junk food!

9. Five things I like to do?
I like to eat junk food, watch TV, make my little boy laugh, go hiking or camping in the mountains with Jer, play games with friends and family.

10. Five TV shows I like? Lost, The Office, Heros, Smallville, and So You Think You Can Dance. So excited for the new seasons to start!!!

11. Five things I hate to do? Meeting new people but only because I'm really shy and I always say something dumb, driving in the rain, speaking in front of big groups, disciplining Jake, and folding laundry.

12. Five biggest joys at the moment? Jake, Jeremy, my family and friends, the leaves changing color, and decorating my house. Oh, and blogging!!

Now I tag Jaime (if you haven't done it already), Amy, Paige, Amber, Melissa and anyone else who wants to participate.

Apologies

Sometimes my husband and I are soooo different and lately we've been fighting about everything from how to raise Jake, to how to spend our money, to what to do for fun. Sometimes we just don't see eye to eye. He's loud and outgoing. I'm quiet and shy. He's impatient and has to stay busy. I hate change and love to just veg. We're both really stubborn.

Well, a few days ago I got these BEAUTIFUL flowers with a sweet little note. It made my day!! It's so nice to know that even though Jeremy and I have such different opinions we still love eachother and want eachother to be happy.

So, I love you Jer. Thanks for being my opposite!

Dinosaur Museum

Jake and I went to the dinosaur museum the other day. We had been before, but this time he was old enough to really enjoy it.

We call this dinosaur "SPUD". I don't know why.

It may look like Jake is throwing a tantrum here, but he was actually doing an imitation of the shark in the next picture.

Pretty good, don't you think?

Family Pictures

We went up the canyon to do family pictures. Our friends the Stephens have a really nice camera, and we decided that it would be a fun family home evening activity. There were so many great pictures of the kids! They're sooo cute!

Summer Review

I thought that I would try and catch up on some of the things that we have done recently in our family.

Time Capsule
Our family has a time capsule. Each member in our family collects things to put in it that will help us remember what we've been doing for the past year. We make predictions and put in goals that we want to try and accomplish. We are supposed to dig it up every year, but it had been two or three years since we did it last.

None of the grand kids had ever been to our secret spot. Jake had a blast! He would sit down on the trail every few feet and throw dirt all over himself.

We eventually had Jake hold Rudy's leash to keep him motivated. It didn't work to well. Rudy is a bit out of shape!

Kayley got pretty tired too. Even though she was carried the whole way she got pretty thirsty.
Everyone gathered around the time capsule, wondering what's inside!!

Dallas Comes For A Visit
Jeremy's childhood friends, Corbin and Matt, came for a short visit. Corbin has a little boy named Dallas who is just a couple of weeks older than Jake. They were instantly friends! They discovered the fun of jumping off the couch together. They would have done it all night if we would have let them!

Jake getting some air!

GO BEES!
This summer we went to several Bees games. Jake had such a great time! We weren't sure how long he would sit there before he got bored, but he did awesome! He was singing the cheers and shouting GO BEES!

He loved the mascot!

I know, I look ridiculous in hats! It's actually Jake's hat, but he wanted Mommy to wear it.

Having fun with Dad.

After one of the games they had fireworks. This is Jake's excited face after the first few went off.

Five Year Anniversary!
Jeremy and I celebrated our fifth anniversary! We spent a few days in Chicago. It was sooo much fun! We went shopping, to Navy Pier, to the Art Museum of Chicago, and to see the play Wicked. We had a great time! It was good for us to spend some time just the two of us. It doesn't happen too much anymore. Jake stayed with Jeremy's parents while we were gone. It was hard leaving him behind but he had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa.

Canyon Trip

We spent the evening up at American Fork Canyon. Jake loves going for hikes and throwing rocks in the water. It was a perfect day! The cooler weather is making us all excited for fall!

Memorial Weekend

This was a busy weekend for our family. My sister Paige blessed her baby, Addaline, and my other sister Lisa had a birthday party for her little girl, Kayley. Jake is getting out numbered by all the girl cousins!

Baby Addaline, happy for the moment.

Kayley opening presents.

Kayley eating birthday cake. She sort of liked it...ok she demolished it!

To Jaime: Sorry for taking you off my friends list. It won't happen again!

My first time...

I thought I would try out the blogging world.

This is my cute son Jake over at Jaime's house. She is the one making me do this. She's also the only one that will be reading so she probably knows everything about us already, but oh well!

Jeremy and Jake playing together.

We spent a lot of time down at the pool this year. Jake took swimming lessons and absolutely loved it! He turned into such a swimmer. He also learned how to flirt with the girls. He's making out with Savanna in this picture.
